The show was remarkable for its luxury cast, starting with the entry of the two children, Patricia Arbués and Rodrigo Espinar, who gave way to the models: Irina Shayk, Valentina Zaliaeva and Josephine Skriver. Jon Kortajarena and Anne Vyalistina gave a surprising finishing touch to the “love story” of this great show. The attendees included well renowned faces from the worlds of film, fashion, the Spanish and international society and the press and international buyers, who enjoyed a unique presentation in terms of the designs, casting, celebrities and the stage design.
One more year, Pronovias brought together many well-known people from the most exclusive international social circles: Stacy Keibler, model and actress; Petra Nemcova, international model; Francesca Eastwood, daughter of actor and film director, Clint Eastwood; Rainey Qualley, daughter of actress Andie MacDowell and Federica Pellegrini, Italian Olympic swimming champion.
Every bride shines on her special day, but the Pronovias bride dazzles. The gowns in this new collection are absolute treasures, with elegant, delicate mother-of-pearl and crystal embroidery which adds subtle gleam to necklines before cascading down past the waistline to the hem. The use of glitter fabrics on the skirts on some dresses gives this collection, with its tiny sequins and feathers that adorn myriad, magical fabrics, a unique aura. The star combination is, without question, tulle and guipure lace, creating dresses brimming with romanticism and elegance for brides choosing floral decorations and clean, precise lines that show off their figures to perfection.
There is everything from traditional princess dresses, cinched at the waist and often with flattering strapless necklines, to sensual mermaid styles, or fresh, simple numbers, figure-hugging below the waist and with asymmetric necklines. The collection includes endless neckline choices for brides-to-be, from tantalizing halter necks which leave the shoulders and back bare to a host of V-neck, scoop neck and U-necklines, with tiny sleeves that subtly cover the shoulders. As well as tulle and guipure, the collection has gowns in superb materials such as rebrodé and Chantilly lace, organza, Paris organza and Torino taffeta.
These fine fabrics are fashioned into magical wedding dresses with gorgeous details on the back, such as sinuous layering and floral motifs in lace and gemstone embroidery. Modern, daring brides will also find what they are looking for from short dresses, perhaps a sophisticated corset, not to forget the gowns with very voluminous skirts. This is the year of the vintage-style headdress and brides will find a wonderful selection to put the finishing touch to their ensembles, from flapper-style headbands to birdcage veils to romantic 1920s-inspired cap veils that cover some of the bride’s hair.
The extensive Pronovias 2014 collection ranges from classically cut gowns to more modern ones that distil freshness and simplicity. A special mention must go to the new Atelier Pronovias collection, which stands out for its wealth of fabrics, and the gorgeous silks and French lace. Nor can we forget the marvelous work in rebrodé, chantilly, gauze, garza and taffeta that go to make up unique and exclusive items. Elie by Elie Saab presented a romantic dream style with a design filled with glamour, with long gowns and ribbons around the bust. A collection made in soft and ivory colors with fabrics like organza and silk taffeta, mikado and lace all set off with a final touch of magic with embroidery of pearls and pailletes.
