Finding a venue that is both beautiful AND flexible enough to meet all of your needs is perhaps the most stressful part of planning a wedding. You might love the view at one site, but not the $140-a-plate mandatory caterer. The food at another venue is spectacular, but not so much the box-like reception hall with its dated purple carpet and red velvet table linens. So often, you are faced with a long list of all-or-nothing packages. There are beautiful spaces, but never enough space and freedom to have the wedding you’re truly dreaming about.
Your wedding is yours and yours alone, and you deserve a venue that will allow you to get outside of the box and into the open air of the beautiful Almaden Hills, a venue with all of the luxury of a winery and the perfect intimacy of a wedding at home. Trudys is so happy to introduce you to one of our favorite new venues in the Bay Area – The (stunning) Enchanting Gardens of Almaden.
The Enchanting Gardens of Almaden is, quite simply, the best of all worlds. The beautifully manicured gardens and vineyard create the perfect wine-country ambiance, centered around a stunning Mediterranean villa that will serve as your home-away-from-home. The luxurious on-site bride’s room means you and your party won’t have to worry about transportation wrinkles – you can walk your freshly-pressed dress right outside and down the aisle. An expansive lawn and tiled patio offer you the ability to let your imagination run wild and create your own vision for your wedding day. The Enchanting Gardens is also a private venue – no unwanted gym goers or golf pros or hotel guests will be wandering in to your reception, leaving you free to relax and enjoy time with your friends and family.
It’s beautiful, it’s comfortable, it’s all yours – and we haven’t even gotten to the good part yet. Want to choose your own food? Feel free to bring your own licensed caterer! Have a certain wine you fancy? Bring in your own drinks, with NO corkage fee! The Enchanting Gardens is child-friendly, thrilled to celebrate with our LGBT brides and grooms, and your hosts are even thoughtful enough to provide a sitting room for elderly guests to escape and rest on cool summer nights.
The Enchanting Gardens of Almaden can accommodate up to 150 guests, or 250 with the addition of executive restrooms. Also included with the site is the Wedding Day Management Package of Certified Wedding Consultant Marcia Coleman-Joyner, whose warmth and 24 years of experience will be the final pieces that make your day truly perfect. We can vouch for Marcia’s talent ourselves – she is also the Event Coordinator for Trudys Brides!
We’re simply in love with The Enchanting Gardens of Almaden. And just when we thought we couldn’t fall any deeper, they’ve graciously donated the use of their property to one lucky couple as part of our $20,000+ Dream Wedding Give-Away at this year’s Wedding Faire. Maybe, just maybe, that couple is you.
Finding the perfect venue is exhausting, unless the perfect venue just happens to be right in the neighborhood. We can’t wait for you to discover The Enchanting Gardens of Almaden.

Every gown tells a love story. Which will tell yours?
The show was remarkable for its luxury cast, starting with the entry of the two children, Patricia Arbués and Rodrigo Espinar, who gave way to the models: Irina Shayk, Valentina Zaliaeva and Josephine Skriver. Jon Kortajarena and Anne Vyalistina gave a surprising finishing touch to the “love story” of this great show. The attendees included well renowned faces from the worlds of film, fashion, the Spanish and international society and the press and international buyers, who enjoyed a unique presentation in terms of the designs, casting, celebrities and the stage design.
One more year, Pronovias brought together many well-known people from the most exclusive international social circles: Stacy Keibler, model and actress; Petra Nemcova, international model; Francesca Eastwood, daughter of actor and film director, Clint Eastwood; Rainey Qualley, daughter of actress Andie MacDowell and Federica Pellegrini, Italian Olympic swimming champion.
Every bride shines on her special day, but the Pronovias bride dazzles. The gowns in this new collection are absolute treasures, with elegant, delicate mother-of-pearl and crystal embroidery which adds subtle gleam to necklines before cascading down past the waistline to the hem. The use of glitter fabrics on the skirts on some dresses gives this collection, with its tiny sequins and feathers that adorn myriad, magical fabrics, a unique aura. The star combination is, without question, tulle and guipure lace, creating dresses brimming with romanticism and elegance for brides choosing floral decorations and clean, precise lines that show off their figures to perfection.
There is everything from traditional princess dresses, cinched at the waist and often with flattering strapless necklines, to sensual mermaid styles, or fresh, simple numbers, figure-hugging below the waist and with asymmetric necklines. The collection includes endless neckline choices for brides-to-be, from tantalizing halter necks which leave the shoulders and back bare to a host of V-neck, scoop neck and U-necklines, with tiny sleeves that subtly cover the shoulders. As well as tulle and guipure, the collection has gowns in superb materials such as rebrodé and Chantilly lace, organza, Paris organza and Torino taffeta.
These fine fabrics are fashioned into magical wedding dresses with gorgeous details on the back, such as sinuous layering and floral motifs in lace and gemstone embroidery. Modern, daring brides will also find what they are looking for from short dresses, perhaps a sophisticated corset, not to forget the gowns with very voluminous skirts. This is the year of the vintage-style headdress and brides will find a wonderful selection to put the finishing touch to their ensembles, from flapper-style headbands to birdcage veils to romantic 1920s-inspired cap veils that cover some of the bride’s hair.
The extensive Pronovias 2014 collection ranges from classically cut gowns to more modern ones that distil freshness and simplicity. A special mention must go to the new Atelier Pronovias collection, which stands out for its wealth of fabrics, and the gorgeous silks and French lace. Nor can we forget the marvelous work in rebrodé, chantilly, gauze, garza and taffeta that go to make up unique and exclusive items. Elie by Elie Saab presented a romantic dream style with a design filled with glamour, with long gowns and ribbons around the bust. A collection made in soft and ivory colors with fabrics like organza and silk taffeta, mikado and lace all set off with a final touch of magic with embroidery of pearls and pailletes.

Now that you’re on the dress hunt, you’ll need to know about trunk shows. Trunk shows are when designers go on the road with their entire collection and visit salons across the nation. This means that instead of just seeing a couple of gowns from the designers you love you can try on everything from their newest line! Maggie Sottero just debuted their gorgeous Fall 2013 collection at Trudys Brides and we sat down with the owner of the salon, Steven Blechman, to get the dish on what you need to know before your next trunk show.
1. Sometimes a designer or a member of the design team will be at their trunk show so it’s a great opportunity for a bride to actually get fitted and receive personal styling advice directly from the designer. Find out if the designer will be coming to the show and don’t be afraid to ask them for advice or find out the inspiration behind the dress you love. Usually if you end up buying a dress at the trunk show the designer will autograph a picture or illustration, which is a pretty special momento to keep from your dress shopping experience.
2. If you are lucky enough to attend a debut, or advance showing, that means you’ll be able to preview and try on the newest season of gowns months before they are officially released to bridal salons across the US. This exciting event gives you a first look at the newest trends and fresh style concepts, so you’ll truly be the first to shop for that dress!
3. Come in ready to explore! While it’s great to have an idea of what you’re looking for, let the pros make some recommendations for you. You may be surprised when you’ve found your dream dress was a style you never would have imagined.
4. Take advantage of the great relationships between your favorite designer and the salon. Trunk shows usually mean priority deliveries of gown orders to that salon. And if custom changes are needed usually a designer will offer a reduced fee, or no extra charge during a trunk show event. Who doesn’t like the sound of that!

If you’re planning a spring or summer wedding, you will want to make sure you keep your skin beautiful and radiant throughout the cold months. Put your best face forward on your wedding day with these simple tips:
Protecting Your Skin from the Sun
Sunscreen isn’t just for the summer. The sun can cause damage to the skin, even in the winter. Always remember to apply sunscreen to exposed part of the body.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
As the season changes, so should your skin care routine – you may find that your skin seems dryer than usual during winter. Therefore, moisturizing your skin is a top priority to ensure glowing skin on your special day.
Don’t Forget Your Lips
During the winter, lips can get chapped and dry very easily. Licking them will only make it worse, so be sure to always have lip balm on hand.
Don’t let your skin suffer throughout the cold months. Take care of your skin.
